Residents of a village in Sudan's al-Jazira state are living in fear as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitaries continue their advance southwards. The paramilitaries, who control most of the capital, Khartoum, have been looting cars, lorries, and tractors from the villagers.
Armed individuals wearing RSF uniforms have been forcefully taking vehicles from residents at gunpoint. The ongoing conflict between the RSF and the Sudanese army has forced half a million people to seek refuge in the agricultural state of al-Jazira.
The paramilitaries have been terrorizing the inhabitants by advancing along the motorway between Khartoum and the town of Wad Madani, looting markets, and causing indiscriminate fire.
The conflict has resulted in the displacement of millions of people and has caused significant casualties. The United Nations has expressed concern about the escalating violence and attacks against civilians.
