A tragic incident occurred in central Liberia when a tanker truck carrying gasoline crashed and exploded, resulting in the loss of at least 40 lives, according to the police. The accident took place in Totota, Bong County, and also left around 30 people injured. Reports suggest that locals had gathered at the crash site, and some individuals began taking the leaking gas from the tanker, which led to the explosion. The police are still in the process of determining the exact number of casualties and injuries. Eyewitnesses recounted that people were climbing on top of the truck and using various tools to puncture the tank in order to collect the gas. As a result of this devastating incident, there are currently 36 critically ill patients, including children and a pregnant woman, who require urgent medical attention.
